Astarte
Astarte, Eternal of Fertility, Growth, and Life, elevated the Fey to heights never seen before or since.
She embodied creation in its most nurturing form, and was beloved across every corner of the empire. Her story is also among the greatest tragedies in all the Spiral History.
Nature & Domain
Under Astarte’s blessing, life did not merely persist, it flourished, in the name of Harmony:
- Forests flourished beyond all reckoning
- New races emerged into the world
- Cities multiplied across the continents
- Whole regions teemed with living creatures under her care
Where Maat taught the mind to seek, Astarte taught the world to grow.
The Golden Age
Under her blessing the Feyan Empire rose to a glory the world has not matched since. She was beloved in every corner of it, not feared, not bargained with, but loved, as one loves the season that ends a famine.
The Great Tragedy
Yet through the schemes of the Grand Horrors and the manipulations of Morgenydon, Astarte fell into despair, corruption, and imprisonment — and her fall brought about the collapse of the greatest empire ever known. Even after her return, her story remains a reminder that no soul, not even an Eternal, is beyond suffering.
The Two Pillars
Together, Maat and Astarte symbolise the two pillars upon which civilization stands:
| Maat | Astarte |
|---|---|
| Truth, guides the mind | Growth, nurtures life |
Their union shaped an age whose ruins still mark the world thousands of years later, a height of civilization reached once, and mourned ever since.
“She did not ask to be worshipped. She asked only that something be allowed to grow.”
